Description

"I linger in the doorway,
Of alarmclocks screaming, monsters calling my name,
Let me stay where the wind will whisper to me,
Where the raindrops as they're falling tell the story.
In my field of paper flowers,
And candy clouds of lullaby,
I lie inside myself for hours,
And watch my purple sky fly over me."

-Evanescence, Imaginary

I've always wanted to illustrate that part of the song, and now I have! Tis my life theme song, so it is very special to me. Took me a long time to find just the right stock, but I finally got it all together, and worked on it for about 20 hours, because I'm slow.

Full list of what I did:
darkened the area around the door as well as taking out some of the blue in the white lines
altogether darkened the girl's dress, hair and make-up as well as adding shadows
made her face a little thinner, added cheekbones, made the nose smaller, and lips bigger, changed eye colour and darkened the shadows
took out the doors and added the path, painted the grass and made the paper flowers
painted the sky and clouds

Twas fun doing this! Too bad I couldnt make the grass and sky look more natural though. Fortunately, I didnt want the paper flowers to look very real, so I didnt have to try as hard on those! And just a note... whenever I change someone's face to look the way I want it, this does not mean I thought they were too ugly or not perfect enough to use the way they were! Dont want anyone to think that. Dani is a beautiful girl without my help :)
